Pafos region reports Green City distinctions for three municipalities

The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism announced on 6 October 2026 that Pafos, Ierokipia and Polis Chrysochous had received Green City of Cyprus distinctions at the Cyprus Environmental Awards 2025. The awards retain their 2025 title; the tourism board announcement is dated 2026.
According to the board, the Pafos distinction concerned water resources and boreholes for urban irrigation. Ierokipia was recognised for coastal use of recycled water and urban biodiversity, while Polis Chrysochous was recognised for environmental education and ecological-cultural museums.
